Mr. Putin praised the Friendship Association's contribution to the history of relations between Russia and Vietnam.
While greeting the participants of the conference on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Russia-Vietnam Friendship Association, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that almost the entire history of relations with Vietnam is inseparable from the activities of this organization, the congratulatory message was posted on the Kremlin website.

"Almost the entire history of relations between our two countries is closely linked with the activities of the Friendship Association. Over the past six decades, this prestigious community organization has strengthened mutual understanding and increased trust between the peoples of Russia and Vietnam," President Putin remarked in his message.
The head of state of Russia stressed that the progress made in recent years in developing partnership relations between the two countries was largely achieved through the active efforts of people-to-people diplomacy, including in line with the organization's guidelines."The Friendship Association plays a particularly important role in strengthening mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation in the fields of culture and science, education and training, sports and tourism, as well as in expanding contacts between regions of the Russian Federation and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the fraternal ties of Vietnamese and Russian cities," President Putin added.
