Mr. Putin shed tears when arriving in Sevastopol

Russian President Vladimir Putin told Sevastopol acting leader Dmitry Ovsyannikov about his first visit to the city.

"When I first came here, I was moved to tears. In the minds of Russian citizens, Sevastopol has always been a special city," - the Russian head of state commented.

Mr. Putin also entrusted Mr. Ovsyannikov with verifying and resolving complaints from local residents about the city's construction.

"People expressed their opinions with concern. They wrote that the planned changes to transfer land from private ownership to federal control could affect other assets, such as houses and garages. People complained that no one was preparing compensation, only expropriation. There are concerns that these actions are aimed at serving the interests of business groups - the power structure. Everything should be as transparent as possible," the media quoted President Putin as saying.
