Mr. Tran Dai Quang - Politburo member, President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam for the 2011-2016 term is the only person nominated in the list presented to the National Assembly to elect the position of President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam for the new term. Continuing the working program of the 1st Session of the 14th National Assembly, this morning (July 25), National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, on behalf of the National Assembly Standing Committee, presented the Proposal on proposed personnel for the National Assembly to elect the President.

Mr. Tran Dai Quang continues to be nominated by the National Assembly to hold the position of President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam for a new term.

Delegates discussed in groups the proposed personnel. The results of the discussion will be reported this afternoon before the National Assembly votes to approve the list and conducts a secret ballot to elect the President. After being elected, the President will take the oath according to regulations. The oath-taking ceremony will be broadcast live on radio and television.

Mr. Tran Dai Quang was born on October 12, 1956, in Ninh Binh province. He is a member of the 13th National Assembly. He is a Professor and Doctor of Law and has held the following positions: Director of the Security Staff Department, Deputy Director General, Director General of the General Security Department, Standing Member of the People's Public Security Party Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security.
