Mr. Tran Hoang Ngan was appointed as assistant to the Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee.

On the afternoon of November 20, the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee announced the decision of the Central Party Secretariat on appointing Mr. Tran Hoang Ngan, member of the City Party Committee and Secretary of the City Party Committee, to the position of assistant to Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Nen.

Because Mr. Ngan is currently a National Assembly delegate, attending the 6th session of the 15th National Assembly, he was absent from the ceremony announcing the appointment decision.

Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen sent his congratulations and said that Associate Professor Dr. Tran Hoang Ngan has become a teacher and scientist and has gone through many challenges and has a lot of experience in the economic field.

He hopes that, as an assistant, Mr. Ngan will continue to contribute and advise in his areas of expertise, and strive to excellently complete assigned tasks.

Previously, in October 2022, the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee decided to appoint Mr. Tran Hoang Ngan to the position of Secretary of the Politburo member and Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen.

Meritorious Teacher, Associate Professor, Doctor of Economics Tran Hoang Ngan was born in 1964, from Tien Giang province.

Before becoming Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Institute for Development Studies, Mr. Ngan worked as a lecturer and manager at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics, Ho Chi Minh City University of Finance and Marketing, then as director of the Academy of Officials; and as a National Assembly delegate for the 13th and 14th terms.

Mr. Ngan is currently a member of the 15th National Assembly and a member of the Prime Minister's Economic Advisory Group. He was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Prime Minister (2001), a Second Class Labor Medal (2016), and a 30-year Party membership badge.
