On April 30, US President Donald Trump proposed holding a summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un at the truce village of Panmunjom, where the inter-Korean summit between the leaders of South Korea and North Korea also took place.
In a tweet, Mr. Trump wrote: "Many countries are being considered for the summit (with North Korea), but Peace House/Freedom House on the Border of the two Koreas is the final, most important, and most representative site than a third country."
The summit between the US President and the North Korean leader is expected in late May or early June.
Russian-French presidents support maintaining Iran nuclear deal

The Kremlin announced on April 30 that Russian President Vladimir Putin and his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron agreed in a phone call that the Iran nuclear deal needs to be maintained and fully implemented.
According to the Kremlin, during the phone call, President Macron also informed President Putin about the results of his visit to the US, focusing on talks with US President Donald Trump on the Iran nuclear deal, also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

South Korea announced plans to dismantle anti-North Korean loudspeakers at the border, saying it was the first step toward easing tensions and reconciling the two Koreas. According toKorea Times,The South Korean Defense Ministry said on April 30 that the dismantling will begin on May 1.
North and South Korea have installed powerful loudspeaker systems along their border since 1963. South Korea's loudspeaker systems often broadcast news bulletins, programs critical of the North Korean government, and even K-pop music.
Syrian military base attacked by missiles

Syria's official news agency SANA said that "a new aggression by hostile missiles" took place at around 22:30 on April 29 (2:30 on April 30 Hanoi time), targeting military positions in Hama and Aleppo.
At least 26 people are believed to have been killed, including four Syrians. The others were foreign fighters, mostly Iranians.

Bloomberg news agency reported on April 30 that British Prime Minister Theresa May appointed Mr. Sajid Javid as Home Secretary to replace Ms. Amber Rudd - who resigned on April 29 due to the scandal of people from Caribbean countries who were invited to the UK to solve the labor shortage problem from 1948 to 1971, called the "Windrush generation", being considered illegal immigrants.
Before being appointed Home Secretary, Mr. Javid served as Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government.
Egypt kills dozens of terrorists in Sinai

On April 30, the Egyptian Armed Forces announced that 30 terrorists, including four dangerous ones, were eliminated last week as part of a comprehensive anti-terrorism campaign in the Sinai Peninsula.
In a statement, the Egyptian Armed Forces said 173 suspects were arrested over the past week.
In addition, Egyptian security forces seized eight automatic guns and three explosive devices, and destroyed hundreds of terrorist hideouts over the past week.
Landslide in China, 9 people died

The landslide occurred at 5am (4am Hanoi time) on April 30 in Luliang city, Shanxi province, burying 9 people under the rubble. More than 100 firefighters, police, rescue workers and medical staff were present at the scene.
The Luliang government said the rescue operation ended in the early afternoon of the same day, with nine trapped people dead. The cause of the landslide and the identities of the dead are still unknown.
