On April 30, US President Donald Trump proposed holding a summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un at the truce village of Panmunjom, where the inter-Korean summit between the leaders of South Korea and North Korea also took place.

In a tweet, Mr. Trump wrote: "Many countries are being considered for the summit (with North Korea), but Peace House/Freedom House on the Border of the two Koreas is the final, most important, and most representative site than a third country."

The summit between the US President and the North Korean leader is expected in late May or early June.

South Korea announced plans to dismantle anti-North Korean loudspeakers at the border, saying it was the first step toward easing tensions and reconciling the two Koreas. According toKorea Times,The South Korean Defense Ministry said on April 30 that the dismantling will begin on May 1.
