US President Donald Trump sees the next 48 hours as crucial to resolving the Gaza issue.
According to RIA Novosti on October 8, Fox News reported that US President Donald Trump believes that the next 48 hours of indirect negotiations between Israel and Hamas in Egypt will be very important for the prospect of resolving the conflict in the Gaza Strip.
"President Trump reportedly told the former American hostage at a White House meeting that the next 48 hours of negotiations are critical," Fox News reported.
The source also noted that President Donald Trump has tasked his American negotiators, such as special envoy Steve Witkoff and Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, who served as Middle East adviser and envoy, to reach an agreement between the parties in the conflict before going to Egypt.
Indirect talks have been taking place in Egypt since Monday (October 6) between delegations from Hamas and Israel, with the participation of mediators from Egypt, Qatar and Türkiye, on a 22-point peace plan proposed by US President Donald Trump to end the two-year war in the Gaza Strip.
On October 7, on the second anniversary of the conflict, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that Israel was determined to ensure the return of all hostages from the Gaza Strip and achieve all war goals, including ending Hamas' presence in the Gaza Strip.
Despite the immense pain caused by Hamas's attack on the south of the country two years ago, Israel still feels extremely proud of the Jewish state's incredible resilience, Mr. Netanyahu said.
