Trump welcomes Putin's role as mediator in Israel-Iran conflict
US President Donald Trump said the US is open to Russian President Vladimir Putin's help in mediating the Israel-Iran conflict.

According to RIA Novosti, US President Donald Trump said he is willing to accept Russian President Vladimir Putin as a mediator in the Israel-Iran conflict.
“He is ready. He called me about it. We had a long conversation,” ABC News reported, quoting the White House boss.
Earlier, President Donald Trump said that the US had “nothing to do” with Israel’s latest attacks on Iran. Along with that, Mr. Trump did not rule out the possibility that Washington would get involved in the conflict in the future.
“We could intervene in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran,” ABC News quoted President Trump as saying.
On the night of June 14, the two leaders Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin had a 50-minute phone call. Mr. Trump said that he shared with Mr. Putin his views on the need to end the conflict between Tel Aviv and Tehran.
In a related development, Ukrainian parliamentarian Alexander Dubinsky said that the escalation in the Israel-Iran military conflict gives President Volodymyr Zelensky a “diplomatic break” before meeting with US President Donald Trump.
"This gives the suffering government a few more weeks to prepare positions that will be tested before the end of June," MP Dubinsky wrote on the Telegram channel.
According to this congressman, Mr. Zelensky is using the tactic of denying the successes of the Russian military to maintain a “positive context” for the meeting with President Trump at all costs.
