Trump worries that Ukraine could 'become Russia' one day
US President Donald Trump believes that Ukraine will become Russia one day, so Kiev must ensure the safety of US investments.

According to RIA Novosti on February 11, speaking in an interview with Fox News, US President Donald Trump said that Ukraine must ensure the safety of US money invested in the country, because "one day, this country could become Russia".
“They have tremendous value in land in terms of rare earth metals, oil and gas, and many other things. I want our money to be invested safely. Because we are spending hundreds of billions of dollars. They may make a deal, they may not make a deal. They may become Russia someday. And they may not become Russia,” President Trump said.
According to the US leader, the US is conveying to Ukraine Washington's view that Kiev must return the invested money.
““I want them to give it back,” Mr. Trump said.
The US president added that the country is believed to have invested "over $300 billion, maybe $350 billion" in Ukraine, while Europe has invested $100 billion.
"We spend more than twice as much," Mr. Trump said.
"I told them I want $500 billion worth of rare earths, and they basically agreed to do that. So at least we won't feel stupid. Otherwise, we're stupid. I told them we have to do it, we have to get something," the US President said.
At the same time, Mr. Donald Trump did not directly answer the question about whether to continue providing weapons to Ukraine.
