Trump says 'getting along with Russia makes sense'
US President Donald Trump said that Washington is capable of building good relations with Moscow, despite its tough policy towards the Russian Federation, and that normal relations between the two countries is a "logical" step.

“I think the message here is: nobody has ever been as tough on Russia as the Trump administration, but at the same time we will be able to get along with Russia. Getting along with Russia makes sense,” the US president said in response to a question about what message Secretary of State Mike Pompeo would bring to Russia.
He noted that "nobody has imposed sanctions on Russia like me, nobody has talked about the gas pipeline going to Germany and other places like me."
On May 14, in Sochi, Mr. Pompeo will meet with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
