The chili peppers on Amazon are listed as originating from Dong Ba market (Thua Thien-Hue), priced at 11.75 USD/400g, equivalent to about 670,000 VND/kg, not including shipping costs plus 5.61 USD. Meanwhile, at Dong Ba market, on January 20, these small Hue chili peppers were sold for 22,000 - 26,000 VND/kg.
Also on this page, a section selling chili products labeled as originating from Vietnam, with the name “ot hiem” (hot chili - PV) is sold for 7.36 USD/package of 50 seeds. If you buy a large 50g package of lemon leaves, the selling price is 9.19 USD (about 210,000 VND).
While similar chili products from Thailand are sold for $9.95/400g, small red chilis from Thailand, similar to Hue chili, are sold at Dong Ba market for $7.9/package plus a shipping fee of $3.75.
In addition to chili peppers, eBay and Amazon also sell some spices originating from Vietnam, Thailand and China.
Specifically, galangal root is sold for 12.9 USD/400g and is from Thailand. A bunch of 8 lemongrass stalks costs 8.75 USD (equivalent to about 200,000 VND).
