Ozil becomes the best assist maker in Premier League history
With three assists in the match against Sunderland on April 24, Mesut Ozil reached the highest number of assists a player has made in a Premier League season.
Ozil has now created a total of 137 chances for his teammates since the start of the 2015-2016 Premier League season. According to Opta, this is the highest number a player has created in a season since statistics began in 2003-2004. The previous record was 134 chances, held by Frank Lampard in the 2008-2009 season.
Arsenal have only taken advantage of 18 of the 135 chances Ozil has created since the start of the season. Even with the last three chances, his teammates have "backed up" the German midfielder, leading to a 0-0 draw with Sunderland.
If his teammates had finished better, Ozil could have broken Thierry Henry's record of 20 successful assists in a season.

Joined Arsenal in 2013,Ozil has helped bring two consecutive FA Cups. Before coming to England, this midfielder had won the championship for the most successful assists in a season in the Bundesliga, La Liga, Champions League, 2010 World Cup and Euro 2012.
