Palestine wants Russia to be a “bridge” in its relations with the world, including the United States, said Nabil Shaath, adviser to the Palestinian president on foreign policy and international relations.

"We want Russia to be a 'bridge' not only with the United States but with the whole world. Russia has always been a partner and friend, always wanting to solve the problems of the Middle East. We see and acknowledge Russia's role in Syria and saving the country from civil war and division," Shaath said in an interview with Komersant.
"We no longer live in an American-dominated world," he said.
"Russia has become a power in the economic, political and military fields, China is an economic power. One cannot talk about the Middle East without Europe. Japan, India, South Africa, Brazil also play an important role. The world can change. We need to change the format of negotiations," - Mr. Nabil Shaath commented.
