The sculpture, erected last week in the town of Qalqiliya, depicts Saddam wearing a helmet and holding a rifle.
A small faction called the Arab Liberation Front erected this monument.
The head of the town, Rafea Rawajbeh, a member of the ruling Fatah movement, also attended the statue's inauguration.
Saddam was a long-time supporter of Palestine and gave millions of dollars to the families of suicide bombers during the Intifada (Palestinian uprising against Israel) that began in 2000.
To this day, Mr. Saddam is still "famous" to many Palestinians for firing dozens of Scud missiles at Israel during the 1991 Gulf War./.
