(Baonghean.vn) - The Pencak Silat team has brought home 3 more Gold Medals for the Vietnamese Sports Delegation. This achievement has helped the Vietnamese Sports Delegation have 43 Gold Medals, temporarily returning to the first position in the medal tally of the 32nd SEA Games as of 3:53 p.m. on May 10.

As the first fighter of the Vietnamese Pencak Silat team to compete on the final day, Nguyen Hoang Hong An was under a lot of psychological pressure. Besides being the first fighter to compete, the Vietnamese fighter also had to face an opponent from the homeland of Silat, who has a lot of international competition experience, Safira Dwi Meilani.

Nguyen Hoang Hong An was behind 43-61 in the final match, but knocked out his opponent with an armlock.

The Indonesian coaching staff appealed after Safida Dwi Meilani was disqualified, but the referee upheld the decision to award the victory to the Vietnamese boxer.

Hong An's victory can be compared to a knockout victory in Pencak Silat, and it happened in the context of Meilani's very close victory. This is also the first gold medal of the Vietnamese Pencak Silat team at the 32nd SEA Games, thereby removing a lot of pressure for the remaining 4 boxers preparing to compete.

Then, with an overwhelming performance, Nguyen Tan Sang won 26 - (-2) against Ferdous of Singapore in the final match of the men's 75-80kg weight class of Pencak Silat.

With his superior skills, Tan Sang did not have much difficulty in winning points against his opponent. The representative of Vietnam took an early lead when he successfully kicked and threw his opponent to the floor, making it difficult for Aladdin both in attack and defense. However, that was not the only notable point of this match.

At the end of the match, Tan Sang scored 26 points while his opponent Sheik Ferdous Bin Sheik Aladdin scored -2 points (minus 2 points). This shows that the Singaporean representative barely scored any attacking points and was deducted points for a foul. Tan Sang's victory also helped Vietnam win its second Gold Medal in Pencak Silat, after boxer Nguyen Hoang Hong An.
