"No, the topic of contact has not been formed. The conversation revolved around specific processes that are taking place…", - he said, answering the question of whether the communication environment between the Kremlin and the White House had changed and whether the topic of a future contact was mentioned between Trump and Putin in two phone calls last week.
"You all know what Mr. Putin said about the impossibility of an effective fight against terrorism. No country can fight terrorism alone. This is a very striking example that effective fight is possible only with the cooperation of countries. And, of course, first of all, Russia and the United States," - the president's press secretary concluded.
Last Friday, the Kremlin announced a phone call between Putin and Trump, noting that the leaders discussed bilateral relations and the situation in crisis hotspots, in particular the Korean Peninsula.
The Kremlin said the second phone conversation took place on Sunday. On Sunday evening, Mr. Putin thanked Mr. Trump for the information provided by the CIA that helped Russian security forces capture terrorists who were preparing to carry out an explosion in St. Petersburg. The Russian president asked Mr. Trump to convey his thanks to the CIA director and American intelligence officers.
