Petr Cech signs for Arsenal
The transfer of the Czech goalkeeper from Chelsea to the Gunners has been completed, with a fee of around $17 million.
The Sport Mail (UK) newspaper asserts that Cech will probably debut for Arsenal in the Community Shield match against his former club Chelsea, taking place on August 2 - right before the new season.
Negotiations between the two London giants about Petr Cech's case have been going on since the end of last season. And finally, coach Arsene Wenger decided to sign the first shopping contract this summer with the 33-year-old goalkeeper.

Coach Jose Mourinho actually always wanted to keep Cech for next season, but he reluctantly let him join the city rival due to his personal wishes. He has contributed a lot to Chelsea in previous seasons, but in the past year Cech has gradually lost his number one position to Thibault Courtois.
Neither club has officially confirmed the transfer, but in addition to Sport Mail, several other major British newspapers have confirmed that the contract has been signed by both parties.
Paris Saint Germain also officially asked to buy this veteran goalkeeper, but Cech wanted to join Arsenal because his family had settled in London.
The Czech Republic goalkeeper's arrival at Arsenal means that Wojciech Szczesny or David Ospina could be forced to leave the Emirates this summer. Ospina was Wenger's first-choice goalkeeper in the second half of last season, helping Arsenal finish third and secure a Champions League place. But the Colombian goalkeeper could be sold, with Turkish side Fenerbahçe keen on him.
Meanwhile, Mourinho is preparing to look for someone to replace Cech as his second-choice goalkeeper next season. Stoke City's Asmir Begovic is currently considered the Portuguese coach's priority target.
