Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex) said that the unit plans to sell E5 gasoline throughout the system at least 15 days earlier than planned. Thus, from December 15, 2017 at the latest, the entire Petrolimex system (about 2,400 stores) will only sell two types of gasoline: E5 and RON 95.

In the case of petrol stations located in mountainous areas, remote areas, due to geographical conditions and specific characteristics, implementation may be slower than in central areas, but the roadmap still ensures the proposed plan.

From December 15, Petrolimex will stop selling RON 92 gasoline.

As of November 10, 2017, Petrolimex has converted about 40% of its petrol stations. It is expected that in the first half of 2018, the Group will continue to invest in 2 more E5 petrol mixing stations with a capacity equivalent to 5 existing stations, in Binh Dinh and Nghe An provinces; at the same time, upgrade the E5 petrol mixing station at the warehouse of petrol stations in region 5.

In the first 6 months of 2018, E5 gasoline blending points will supply an average of 150,000 m3/month (capacity of about 1.8 million m3/year).

To facilitate the conversion process, Petrolimex Group has also notified the intermediary distribution systems about the Government's policy to stop the circulation of RON 92 gasoline and replace it with E5 gasoline so that customers can proactively plan the conversion and need support if any.
