Petrolimex to stop selling RON 92 gasoline from next year
From January 1, 2018, all Petrolimex stores nationwide will sell E5 gasoline to replace RON 92.
General Director of Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex) Tran Van Thinh has just announced that from January 1, 2018, the group will deploy E5 RON 92 gasoline to completely replace RON 92 mineral gasoline nationwide.

Petrolimex currently has nearly 2,500 gasoline stations and accounts for half of the country's retail gasoline market share.Depending on technical facilities and market demand, Petrolimex gas stations are allowed to sell one or both RON 95 mineral gasoline and E5 bio-fuel.The Group also encourages downstream companies to switch from selling RON 92 gasoline to E5 gasoline in 2017 if they are ready to meet the demand.
Thus, from 2018, Petrolimex will no longer have RON 92 mineral gasoline in stock according to the Government's direction. Accordingly, the GovernmentOnly allow production and trading of E5 gasoline and RON 95 mineral gasolineto contribute to ensuring energy security goals, gradually reducing dependence on petroleum as well as implementing international commitments on reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
