Peugeot 3008 has a 300 horsepower hybrid version
The leadership of French car manufacturer Peugeot recently confirmed the preparation to launch a high-performance hybrid version of the Peugeot 3008 crossover, with a capacity of up to 300 horsepower, expected to launch in 2019.

The upcoming new version of Peugeot 3008 is not the GTi line as previously reported, but will be one of the most powerful SUVs, with a 300 horsepower engine, even though it is a hybrid.
Peugeot product director Laurent Blanchet revealed some information about the company's hybrid technology strategy: "I can tell you that this technology will be applied to the 1.6 THP gasoline engine. The combination of the gasoline engine and the electric motor will help the car reach a power of approximately 300 horsepower."
This system will likely help the Peugeot 3008 plug-in hybrid version to be faster than any competitor in the same segment - accelerating from 0 to 100km/h in 6 seconds, before reaching a top speed of 241.4km/h.

“We put the electric motor on the rear axle to create a truly efficient four-wheel drive system,” added Blanchet.
He also revealed to the press that the company will launch more plug-in hybrid models in the next few years. He said: "The Peugeot 3008 plug-in hybrid (PHEV) will be launched in 2019. After that, we will develop PHEV versions for all models." Also next year, Peugeot will launch a 2018 electric car with an engine and operating range comparable to its rival Renault Zoe.
