The Nghi Loc District Police Department said that the unit has just successfully broken up a case, arresting 4 subjects who committed dozens of thefts of property in temples, pagodas, and houses in Nghi Loc District, Cua Lo Town, and Vinh City.

From April 2018 to present, Nghi Loc district has seen a series of thefts at temples, pagodas and houses, causing panic and frustration among the people, and disrupting security and order in the area. Faced with this situation, the Nghi Loc district police have established a special project with code number 618T to investigate and clarify the matter.

During the investigation, on May 27, the Task Force received a report from Ms. L., residing in Nghi Long Commune, Nghi Loc District, stating that her family had just had a burglar break into their house and steal 2 cell phones, 1 iPad and 1 wristwatch.

Then, on June 6, Nghi Loc District Police received a report that the day before, at Nguyen Xi Temple, in Hamlet 3, Nghi Hop Commune, Nghi Loc District, a thief had just broken into and stolen 20 million VND from the donation box in the lower area of the temple.

Collecting documents, consolidating records, and reviewing all suspicious subjects. At the same time, expanding the scope of subjects to other areas, the Task Force identified Nguyen Minh Tri (born in 1996), residing in Block 8, Nghi Tan, Cua Lo Town, as the subject who committed the theft at Ms. L's house in Nghi Long Commune.

Grasping the subject's movements and using synchronous professional measures, on June 7, a working group arrested Nguyen Minh Tri. On the same day, the remaining working group coordinated with the Hung Trung Commune Police, Hung Nguyen District to arrest 3 subjects: Le Van Hien (born 2001), Nguyen Dang Hong (born 2000) and Nguyen Dang Loc (born 1999), all residing in Hamlet 7, Hung Trung Commune, Hung Nguyen District.

Taking advantage of people's carelessness, every night, Tri broke into houses to steal property. As for Hien, Hong and Loc, who are currently students, because of their poor family background but love to enjoy life, the group of young people invited each other to go to temples and pagodas in the province to steal property to have money to spend.

The suspects confessed that since the end of April, they have successfully carried out 10 thefts from donation boxes in temples and pagodas in Nghi Loc, Cua Lo, Vinh City, using a steel bar and mouse glue to carry out the acts. Most of the thefts took place at night, around 1-2 am.
