Breaking up the case, seizing more than 250 kg of fireworks

On November 18, Thai Hoa Town Police (Nghe An Province) announced that the unit had just successfully broken up a case of illegal trading and transporting of large quantities of firecrackers with sophisticated tricks, thereby arresting 03 subjects and seizing more than 250 kg of firecrackers.

The three suspects arrested by the police include: Nguyen Van Tien (born in 1980), residing in Lao Bao town, Huong Hoa district, Quang Tri province; Ho Manh Hung (born in 1983), residing in Long Son ward, Thai Hoa town and Phan Thi Thu Hang (born in 1982), native of Trung Giang commune, Gio Linh district, Quang Tri province, currently residing in Tan Ninh commune, Trieu Son district, Thanh Hoa province.

Previously, through the work of grasping the local situation, Thai Hoa town police discovered a ring of illegal buying and transporting of firecrackers from abroad through Lao Bao border gate (Quang Tri province) and then bringing them to Thai Hoa town for consumption. In which, 03 subjects Tien, Hung, Hang are important "links" in the ring. Accordingly, Nguyen Van Tien and Phan Thi Thu Hang used to transport fruits from Quang Tri province to Thai Hoa town for trading.

Therefore, Tien and Hang connected and negotiated with subjects in Thai Hoa town, including Ho Manh Hung, to buy illegal fireworks across the border and then transport them by fruit truck to Thai Hoa town to sell for profit during Tet.

It is worth mentioning that to deal with the authorities, the subjects renovated and designed a separate compartment on the fruit truck to hide firecrackers.

After a period of collecting evidence, on October 8, 2022 and November 15, 2022, in Thai Hoa town, Thai Hoa town police successfully broke the case, arresting 3 subjects Nguyen Van Tien, Ho Manh Hung and Phan Thi Thu Hang for the act of illegally buying, selling and transporting firecrackers. The seized and temporarily detained evidence was 254kg of firecrackers and 02 trucks.

At the police station, the subjects admitted their crimes. Currently, Thai Hoa Town Police are temporarily detaining the above 3 subjects and continuing to expand the investigation./.
