(Baonghean.vn) - The Nghe An Provincial Police have successfully cracked case 238B, severing a transnational drug trafficking ring that smuggled drugs from Laos into Nghe An and other northern provinces.

At 1:00 AM on December 31st, in the Vinh bus station area, Vinh City, the Narcotics Crime Investigation Police of Nghe An Province, in coordination with other professional units, caught Nguyen Sy Que, born in 1970, residing in Block 9, Tan Ky town, Tan Ky district, Nghe An province, red-handed while illegally transporting narcotics. They seized 10 blocks of heroin and 2 mobile phones.

Acting swiftly on the trail, at 10:30 AM in Dien Chau District, the police force urgently arrested Nguyen Van Binh, born in 1964, residing in Go Vap District, Ho Chi Minh City, the ringleader of the drug trafficking network, who had a previous conviction for illegal drug trafficking and had only been released from prison 3 months prior, and Le Van Hung, born in 1969, residing in Hamlet 8, Xuan Son Commune, Do Luong District, a key link in the network.
The police are currently continuing their investigation to clarify the matter.
