Authorities busted a massive drug ring that only employed the brothers of a Hmong man.
(Baonghean.vn) - The illegal drug trafficking ring led by Lau Ba Cha used people of the Mong ethnic group, especially relatives, and operated very secretly and sophisticatedly.

On October 15th, the Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (PC47) of the Nghe An Provincial Police announced the successful dismantling of a major drug trafficking ring, arresting two suspects and seizing 20 blocks of heroin.

In early July 2017, the PC47 unit discovered a group of Hmong individuals residing in Ban Pha Noi, Muong Tip commune, Ky Son district, involved in drug-related crimes. These individuals regularly crossed the border into Laos via unofficial routes to purchase large quantities of drugs, then returned to Vietnam and distributed them to northern provinces.
Among them, a group led by Lau Ba Cha, residing in Muong Tip, Ky Son, stood out. The drug trafficking activities led by Lau Ba Cha employed many sophisticated methods. Cha used people of the Mong ethnic group, especially relatives and family members, to participate in and carry out criminal activities.

On October 14th, having received information that the suspects would be transporting drugs on a passenger bus along National Highway 7A for distribution, the 717M Special Task Force decided to crack down on the operation.
At 10:30 PM on October 14th, in Dinh Son commune, Anh Son district, the PC47 Department, in coordination with Traffic Police Team 1-7, apprehended Cha and Vu in a passenger car with license plate 37B-02142 traveling from Tuong Duong to Lao Cai. They were found carrying 20 blocks of heroin in their luggage, and an urgent arrest warrant was issued.

The investigation into this case is currently ongoing and being expanded.
Thus, in just the first 15 days of October, the PC47 Department, in coordination with other units, successfully dismantled two major drug trafficking rings, seizing 40 blocks of heroin, 1 kg of methamphetamine, and 12,000 synthetic drug pills.
