Authorities bust drug trafficking ring led by a young man from Nghe An province.
(Baonghean.vn) - The Quy Chau District Police and the Narcotics Crime Investigation Department of the Nghe An Provincial Police jointly led a successful operation to dismantle a large-scale inter-provincial drug trafficking ring, arresting one suspect and seizing 8,000 synthetic drug pills.
In late April 2024, through intelligence gathering, the Quy Chau District Police discovered an inter-provincial drug trafficking ring involving large quantities of narcotics, led by Ngan Van Pit (born in 1992), residing in Nhon Mai commune, Tuong Duong district.
Pit is a heavy drug addict who recently completed a 10-year prison sentence for illegal drug trafficking. During his criminal activities, he always carried a knife and frequently hid in the mountainous border region, making the investigation extremely difficult.
Given the complexity of the drug ring and the audacity of the suspects, the Quy Chau District Police reported the matter to the Provincial Police leadership for guidance and coordinated with the Provincial Police's Drug Crime Investigation Department to launch an investigation.

After a period of persistent surveillance and the coordinated and effective implementation of professional measures, at 9:30 PM on May 2nd, in the Chieng village area, Tri Le commune, Que Phong district, the Quy Chau District Police and the Drug Crime Investigation Department of the Provincial Police coordinated a secret operation to unexpectedly arrest Ngan Van Pit for the illegal buying, selling, and transporting of narcotics.
The seized items included 2,000 synthetic drug pills; 1 motorcycle; 1 mobile phone, and 2 daggers. Expanding the investigation, on the same day, a search of the suspect's residence yielded an additional 6,000 synthetic drug pills and other related evidence. The arrest was carried out with absolute safety for the public and the officers and soldiers involved.
Currently, the Quy Chau District Police are holding the suspect in custody to continue the investigation and expand the scope of the case.
