Authorities busted a ring specializing in dog theft, drug possession, and drug use.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of October 23, the police of Thai Hoa town dismantled a ring specializing in dog theft and the possession and use of drugs.

After a period of investigation and surveillance, at 5:00 AM on October 23rd, the police of Thai Hoa town conducted a search of the house of Mr. Tran Van Son, born in 1962, and Ms. Trinh Thi Thu Huong, born in 1965, residing in Forestry Products Processing Block 3, Quang Phong Ward, Thai Hoa town. There, the town police arrested four individuals for dog theft and illegal possession and use of drugs, including: Mai Van Chau, born in 1976, residing in Block 9, Chu Ty town, Duc Co district, Gia Lai province; Nguyen Buu Loc, born in 1982, residing in Block 9, Tu An Ward, Buon Ma Thuot city, Dak Lak province; Phan Van Hoang, born in 1991, residing in Doc Cao Block, Quang Tien Ward, Thai Hoa town; and Nguyen Huu Bang, born in 1986, residing in Hamlet 3, Nam Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district.

The suspects were arrested.

At the scene, the police seized numerous electric shock devices, fishing rods, knives, swords, chili powder, slingshots, and four fake motorcycle license plates... These were the tools the suspects used to steal dogs.

In addition, the police also seized 2 kg of marijuana, 3.5 grams of methamphetamine, 0.50 grams of heroin, and many sets of methamphetamine paraphernalia. At the same location, the police also confiscated 38 dogs, which were evidence in the case.

According to initial information, Tran Van Son and his wife were involved in the dog trading business. The majority of Tran Van Son's dogs came from thieves who sold them to him. To store the dogs, Tran Van Son had many cages built to hold them.

Tran Van Son's son-in-law, Vu Hoang Cong, born in 1985, is also a repeat offender and a drug addict. After being released from prison, for several months, Vu Hoang Cong has been gathering drug addicts to regularly steal dogs in Thai Hoa town and Nghia Dan district to sell to his father-in-law for money to spend. Investigations revealed that a sound and lighting system for drug use was installed in the bedroom of Vu Hoang Cong and Tran Phuong Anh (Tran Van Son's daughter).
