Authorities raided a large-scale cockfighting ring in an orchard, arresting over 40 suspects.
On January 15th, the Criminal Police Department of Tay Ninh Provincial Police, in coordination with the Mobile Police Department of Tay Ninh Provincial Police and the Police of Duong Minh Chau District, dismantled a large-scale cockfighting ring in an orchard in Truong Mit commune, Duong Minh Chau district.
At the scene, the police arrested and questioned 43 related individuals, seized 38 motorcycles, 9 chickens, 37 mobile phones, over 120 million VND, and other related evidence.

During the investigation, the suspects initially confessed that the cockfighting ring was led by Duong Hong Nhi (alias "Mom", born in 1985, residing in Go Dau district). Through her connections, Nhi invited gamblers from Trang Bang town, Go Dau district, and Duong Minh Chau district to locations of her choosing to participate in betting on cockfights for money.

Nhi chose the gambling locations to be in rubber or longan orchards along the East Canal.
To avoid detection, Nhi frequently changed gambling locations, sometimes two or three times a day. Each time, Nhi hired accomplices to transport the gamblers and act as lookouts outside.
