Anti-drowsy devices must be provided for train captains and drivers.
That is the regulation in Circular 20, effective from July 1, 2018, recently issued by the Ministry of Transport on information, instructions, equipment serving customers, and safety equipment on railway vehicles.

Accordingly, locomotives pulling trains on national and special railways must have speedometers, speed recorders and train running data. In particular, the work stations of train captains and drivers must be equipped with anti-drowsy devices.
For national and urban railways, information and written instructions for customers on the train must be written in Vietnamese and English.
Particularly for passenger trains on national railways, there must be an emergency brake valve on the passenger car and at the train conductor's working position. The train conductor's position must also have a speedometer, pressure gauge, and communication equipment between the train conductor and the driver.

For urban railways, the driver's cab must have at least a speedometer, automatic train protection (ATP), automatic warning system (AWS), speed and train data recording device, and mandatory anti-drowsiness device. The outside of the control car is equipped with a security camera.
The passenger compartment must have at least: emergency warning device for the train driver, security camera, communication device between customer and train driver in case of need...
