Russian delegation arrives in Saudi Arabia for Russia-US talks
Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Putin's aide Yuri Ushakov arrived in Saudi Arabia, where the Russia-US talks took place.
The government plane landed at Riyadh airport. According to Mr. Ushakov, the Russian delegation arrived here with a serious attitude.
"Let's wait and see, the most important thing is to start a real normalization of relations between us and Washington," he stressed.
At the same time, the Presidential Assistant noted that the Russian delegation came to Saudi Arabia only for bilateral contacts with American colleagues; there can be no trilateral negotiations.
The meeting is scheduled to take place in the Saudi capital on Tuesday, February 18. Earlier, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced that the Russian side will be represented by Lavrov and Ushakov, who will discuss with their American counterparts the restoration of the entire range of bilateral relations, as well as preparations for a meeting between the two countries' leaders and possible negotiations to resolve the Ukrainian issue.
According to CNN, the US delegation to Riyadh includes Secretary of State Marco Rubio, President Donald Trump's National Security Advisor Mike Waltz and the US leader's special envoy for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff.
