In Truong Thi ward (Vinh city), where many "headquarters" agencies of the province are concentrated and there are many constructions, apartment buildings, townhouses, headquarters and school projects under construction; therefore, the Party Committee, government, Fatherland Front and mass organizations of the ward have proactively implemented environmental sanitation work for more than a month now.

In parallel with promoting propaganda and mobilization work, the Ward People's Committee signed a commitment for households along the roads to collect waste and construction materials; organizations, agencies, units, especially construction units, to return the "site" clean before January 20.

Mr. Nguyen Tat Thien - Chairman of the Ward People's Committee, affirmed: The Ward mobilized cadres, the core of which is the Urban Rules Team and the People's Protection Committee, to strengthen inspection and supervision of business and trading activities on the streets and sidewalks, ensuring urban order and keeping the environment clean before, during and after Tet.

Mr. Ha Thai Son - Chairman of the Ward People's Committee, said: The important thing is the awareness of each agency, unit and citizen to be responsible in keeping the city clean and beautiful. The Ward People's Committee directs the Fatherland Front and organizations, groups to actively propagate and mobilize households to comply with the garbage disposal on time, in the right place, to avoid the situation of garbage remaining on the streets, causing loss of urban beauty.

Mr. Nguyen Hoai An - Chairman of Vinh City People's Committee, affirmed: To ensure good urban order and environmental sanitation in the city before, during and after Tet, Vinh City People's Committee has issued a plan; in which clearly assigns responsibilities to each level, each sector and public service unit. The city also prioritizes budget, equipment and human resources for this work.

This year, in addition to strengthening the police force, the City People's Committee also mobilized the local people, union members, and youth to directly participate in guiding and directing traffic on main roads and public areas.

For Cua Lo town, environmental protection during Tet is also focused. The town People's Committee has issued a Directive on strengthening environmental sanitation in the town to welcome the Lunar New Year 2017. And not only Vinh city and Cua Lo town, but also in wards and towns in the center of districts and towns in the province, there are plans to beautify the urban area and clean the environment during Tet, in order to create a joyful Spring atmosphere and welcome Tet for the people.

Unlike other labor forces in society, every time we prepare to say goodbye to the old year and welcome the new year, the environmental sanitation and park tree cleaning workers are at their peak. Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa, a flower team worker, said: At this time, more than 100 company workers have to work overtime, working on Saturdays and Sundays, regardless of whether it is sunny or rainy, to contribute spring colors to Vinh city.

Near Tet, sanitation workers have to work overtime day and night.

Mr. Phan Xuan Bao - Director of Vinh City Green Park Joint Stock Company, said: The main work of the unit at this time is to focus on caring for, maintaining, pruning, and shaping trees on roads with traffic lights and at some locations such as Nguyen Tat Thanh Park, Cua Bac Park; green carpets in the Phuong Dong Hotel area, the area at the beginning of Lenin Street connecting Le Hong Phong Street, Quan Bau Street, Nguyen Sy Sach Street...

Along with that, increase the flower planting area on the streets, parks, Ho Chi Minh Square, Vinh City People's Committee campus, Provincial Party Committee and arrange some flower pillars, flower beds, green tree logos, flower carpets on some streets, central areas to create and bring the atmosphere of Spring and Tet to the city.

For the sanitation workers of Nghe An Urban Environment Company Limited, to ensure the set goal of no garbage remaining in Vinh city during the traditional Tet holiday of the nation, the unit mobilized 100% from leaders to workers, laborers to work continuously, without Tet holidays.

Assign each group and production team to collect, transport and process all waste generated daily on over 120 main roads in the city during the night shift, of which more than 20 routes are organized to sweep and collect both night and day shifts. Arrange a team to always be on standby to handle unexpected incidents in "sensitive" areas such as Vinh market, flower markets, public flower gardens...

Mr. Hoang Van Khanh - Chairman of the Board of Directors, Director of Nghe An Urban Environment Company Limited, said: Along with mobilizing human resources, the unit also focuses on specialized vehicles to gather, load and transport garbage, from garbage collection trucks to garbage compactors and garbage transporters; vacuum cleaners, water trucks, septic tank cleaning trucks...

Particularly on the last two days of the old year, the 29th and 30th of Tet, 100% of the workforce will be mobilized to work day and night, with the aim of collecting garbage before 5am on New Year's Eve so that the city on the first day of Tet will be clean, beautiful and civilized.

Along with the efforts of the entire political system at all levels and forces, it is thought that each agency, unit, organization, household and individual needs to be aware of maintaining public hygiene through small tasks such as dumping garbage on time and in the right place; actively participating in environmental sanitation, so that the environment and urban space where they live do not become dirty during the Spring days.
