In this Party rectification, the entire people are hoping that the Party will wipe out the diseases of individualism that Uncle Ho taught.

During his lifetime, Uncle Ho always reminded everyone, especially cadres, party members, leaders, managers, including high-ranking leaders of the Party and State, to cultivate their minds, accumulate virtues, and "throw away the backpack of individualism" within themselves.

On February 3, 1969, Uncle Ho wrote his last article on ethics. He advised every cadre and party member to “Improve revolutionary ethics. Sweep away individualism”. He taught us to sweep away individualism, because as he said: “Individualism is an internal invader, the enemy is within. The enemy within is more frightening, it destroys from within”. And Uncle Ho considered individualism as a kind of trash, so he advised us to “sweep away”. He taught us to recognize the diseases of individualism in order to sweep it away:

1. Bureaucracy: Bureaucracy is the disease of people and leadership agencies that are far from reality, far from the people, and lacking democracy. When bureaucrats are assigned to be in charge of a certain area or work, they are like little kings, freely harassing and scheming in that area or field. They look down on superiors, abuse their power and bully subordinates, and treat the masses like bureaucrats. Bureaucracy leaves serious consequences for the Party, the State, and society, first of all, corruption and waste. Therefore, to completely eradicate corruption and waste, it is necessary to eradicate bureaucracy.

2. Greed: People with this disease put their own interests above the interests of the Party and the nation. The word "I" is bigger than "we", they do not care about themselves for the benefit of everyone, but only want everyone to care for themselves. Therefore, they are selfish, use public resources for private purposes, rely on the power of the Party to pursue their own goals, embezzle, degenerate, live lavishly, and spend recklessly.

3. Laziness: Thinking oneself good at everything, knowing everything, lazy to learn, lazy to think. Afraid of difficulties and hardships. Taking easy things for oneself. Pushing difficult things to others. Finding ways to avoid dangerous things.

4. Arrogance: Arrogant, conceited, and pretentious. Likes to be praised and flattered. Likes to boss others around. Whenever they do something slightly successful, they brag and think that no one is as good as them. Not interested in learning from the masses. Not wanting others to criticize them. Wants to be someone else's teacher in everything.

5. The disease of fame-seeking, greed for fame, profiteering, power and position, thinking oneself a hero, thinking oneself great:Because of that ambition, they do things that are not worth doing. When attacked or criticized, their spirit is shaken. Those people only know how to go up but not down. They can only endure happiness but not suffering. They only want to be this chairman or that committee member, but do not want to do practical work.

6. Illness in name only:Doing work that is not practical, not from the root, not from the main point, not from the bottom up. Doing it for the sake of it, doing it for the sake of it. Doing little, pretending to do a lot, to make a report to show off, but if you look closely, it is empty.

7. Myopia:“They don’t see the big picture. They don’t think about big problems, but only worry about small things. Such people only see small benefits and harms, not big benefits and harms.”

8. Asylum:Wanting equality in everything leads to misunderstanding the word equality, not understanding that strong people carry heavy burdens, weak people carry light burdens, people who do heavy work have to eat a lot, people who do light work have to eat less, that's equality.

9. Flattery and sycophancy:People are good in front of you, but bad behind your back. When you see sticky rice, say it's sweet. When you see meat, say it's delicious.

10. Wing pulling disease:Whoever is compatible with you, even if they are bad, they consider them good, and their bad deeds are considered good, then they cover up for each other and support each other. Whoever is not compatible with you, even if they are good, they consider them bad, and their good deeds are considered bad, then they find ways to slander, speak ill of, and find ways to bring them down. From there, it leads to factions, division, disunity, lack of discipline, lack of responsibility, and failure to properly implement the Party and State's policies and guidelines.

From the above instructions of Uncle Ho, the Resolution of the 4th Central Conference (12th tenure) on Party rectification pointed out the crime of individualism: "The degradation of morality and lifestyle is manifested in: selfishness, pragmatism, opportunism, profiteering, fame-seeking, corruption, and power-hungry; factionalism, disunity, bureaucracy, distance from the people, and insensitivity to the difficulties and grievances of the people. From the degradation of ideology, morality, and lifestyle leading to "self-evolution" and "self-transformation". Therefore, it is necessary to "strongly fight against individualism, selfishness, profiteering, and group interests".

In this Party rectification, the entire people are hoping that the Party will wipe out the diseases of individualism that Uncle Ho taught, that the Party Resolution has pointed out, to bring the Party Central Committee Resolution 4 (term XII) to success, to realize the words of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong: "Everything evil and corrupt is born from this disease. If we do not defeat and wipe out individualism, our Party cannot be clean and strong, cannot be a true revolutionary Party devoted to the country and the people"./.
