Pham Huong: 'I am not overshadowed by Vo Hoang Yen'

The beauty knows her strengths and does not want to be compared with supermodels on the show "I am Miss Universe Vietnam".

- Through several episodes of the reality TV show "I am Miss Universe Vietnam", your host position is not clear. Specifically, what role will you play?

-My main task is to provoke, ask difficult questions to the candidates, forcing them toreveal their behavior, thereby helping them gain more points and impress the judges.SBy accompanying them, I will see their weaknesses and what they lack to remind them and help them become more and more suitable to the standards and criteria of the competition.As a host, I still have the right to score the contestants through each challenge. There is always a close connection between me and the contestants.This is different from a regular MC.

- What pressure did you face when appearing next to supermodel Vo Hoang Yen - someone who specializes in catwalk and style training?

-The program does not invite hosts or consultants to participate.for everyone to comparewho shines more than who, but to aim at equipping candidates with many skills.My position and role and Hoang Yen's are different so it's impossible to say who is overshadowed by the other.

Vo Hoang Yen has a lot of experience as a supermodel and runner-up of Miss Universe Vietnam. The organizers expect her to teach the contestants skills and professional and confident catwalk manners. Each episode will have different advisors.

- Contestants' comments about you and Vo Hoang Yen are opposite.u in training. What conflicts did you and the supermodel encounter when working together?

- We have no conflicts or disagreements. The two sisters are very clear with each other. We create drama together to make the contestants show their abilities. Only when they confidently perform, will they make the audience remember who they are and what their registration number is. That is the most important thing.

- What do you do when candidates are not convinced?

- I don't care whether the contestants are convinced or not. If the contestants are conscious, have the will to improve and want to change themselves, they will listen to what I have to say. I think that when they decide to join this contest, they are already willing to improve, not coming here to convince or not convince the host. The host is not the one who competes with them, to win the crown, but the one who gives them what the host has had and has experienced.

- Mai Ngo's personality may be suitable for other contests with different criteria. But with beauty contests, we require much more.body, mind, personality...not just personality or face.Beauty alone is not enough, candidates need to be serious, civilized and sophisticated in communication.

- What do you think when a contestant in the contest says "I go to the beauty pageant to earn a lot of money"like Pham Huong"?

- She is young, thinking like young people. Yes, money is very important, it helps us solve many problems in life. However, there are many ways to make money. Only when you really become a beauty queen, will you understand how much it takes to earn money from this title. Not only sweat, effort but also tears. Really a hThe beauty queen has no time to spend money because she is very miserable and has to do a lot of work.

Nowadays, there are many beauty pageants, the halo of the title attracts many people. The hardest thing for a beauty queen is to maintain her image in the public eye. The road to the title is difficult, but maintaining it is two or three times more difficult than being crowned. Just trying is not enough. The important thing is to be devoted to that crown. I want the contestants to understand that.

- If the audience comments that your hosting style, from gestures to voice, has not changed at all compared to when you were a coach on The Face. What do you think?

- In The Face, I showed my determination and clear personality to protect my warriors. But here, I want to show more subtlety and emphasis, empathy and sharing with the contestants. I don't always have to be gentle or scold them, but have to show civility and tact. My voice and communication are at a level that everyone can understand.I don't build images.a host who is choosy and puts pressure on the contestants.I don't want to create the impression of a fierce, powerful person to attract attention to myself, but want the audience to focus on the contestant.

- Exactly two years after being crowned Miss Universe Vietnam, how is your life?

- Changed a lot both literally and figuratively.From an ordinary person, I got the attention of millions of people. This put pressure on me.Besides, I also have to maintain the image of my family,keep my loved ones a normal, simple life like when I was not famous. My parents are both simple people, they are not used to the noise of showbiz. When I return home, I am always a student visiting home, not a beauty queen.

Living in Saigon, I have to be completely independent. I spend most of my time working at a high intensity. A free person like me can fly all over the world, anywhere can be called home, sometimes eating and sleeping in cars or planes. That has been my habit for the past two years.In the morning, I usually wake up, water the plants, listen to music, and then go to work until late at night. If I have time off, I will wake up a little later, go to the gym, buy flowers to arrange,play the piano,go to the supermarket and cook yourself a nice mealSometimes I invite friends over to cook at my house. I like that kind of life, doing everything in my own home.

I don’t have time to think about loneliness. On weekends or when I come home late at night, I feel a little sad. But I’ve felt that way since I was in school. I’m an emotional person. The more lonely I am, the stronger I become.
