From that success, Son Thanh's goal in the 2015 - 2020 term is to become a heroic unit in the renovation period.

During the past term, Son Thanh maintained an average economic growth rate of 15.5% per year, which was stable and sustainable. The total production value reached 258.7 billion VND, of which the production value reached 167 billion VND, 2.5 times higher than the Resolution of the previous term. In particular, the proportion of the agriculture - forestry - fishery sector was reduced from 45.9% to 27% (down 18.9% compared to the previous term); industry - construction 28% (up 4.5%); services, trade and labor export reached 116.4 billion VND, equal to 45% (up 13%); per capita income reached an average of 34.4 million VND/year, 2.5 times higher than the resolution at the beginning of the term; poor households remained at 2.56% (down 1.95% compared to the previous term)...

The achievements of Son Thanh in the past term are clearly shown in each specific field: Total agricultural output reached 3,063 tons; well protected and developed the existing forest area with 500 hectares of lush green forest, 90 hectares of regenerated forest, 250 hectares of pine, 160 hectares of eucalyptus and acacia of all kinds, which is meaningful in creating a landscape environment and ensuring the ecosystem. In particular, pine forests in the exploitation age increased annual income by 500 million VND, contributed nearly 200 million VND to the budget each year, created jobs with stable income for over 30 workers. A prominent mark in the past term was the exploitation and promotion of internal resources, effectively attracting investment projects and programs, which can be said to be many times higher than in previous years. In 5 years (2010 - 2015), accelerating the implementation of the previous term's resolution, from investing in the construction of internal irrigation works, field structures to building people's lives, the total capital has reached over 500 billion VND, equal to many terms combined. In particular, with the consensus and efforts of the entire Party and people, mobilizing all resources to attract investment and people's contributions, in less than 4 years of implementing the term's resolution, Son Thanh has spent 213.45 billion VND on building new rural infrastructure, being the first unit in Nghe An province to achieve 19/19 national standards on building new rural areas. Son Thanh's trade services - labor export and job creation continue to develop steadily; the whole commune has 1,743 workers working abroad, annually contributing foreign currency equivalent to over 200 billion VND transferred to the locality.

In the work of taking care of people's health, Son Thanh is a unit that meets the national standards of level 2 health care, the facilities have been and are being invested in and renovated according to the new planning with the approved capital of 5.9 billion VND, expected to be put into use in 2015. The population growth rate is stable at 0.7%, health insurance is timely issued for children under 6 years old. Education has made remarkable progress, in the last term, the commune had 246 children passing the entrance exams to colleges and universities.

Social security activities, building houses of gratitude, charity houses... have become emulation movements and humane beauty of each person. Up to now, the commune's poverty rate is only 2.56%, one of the communes with the lowest poverty rate in the province. People's lives have been constantly improved in all aspects. National defense and security have been maintained, for 5 consecutive years the unit has been awarded the title "Determined to Win Unit" by the district and province, and is one of the communes that have excellently completed local defense tasks. During the entire term, social order and safety have been ensured, being one of the localities that have well implemented the "Ba Yen" Project (peaceful people, peaceful borders and peaceful religions); doing well "Ba An" (safety of cases, safety of accidents, safety of traffic), for many consecutive years Son Thanh commune has been awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Ministry of Public Security for the movement of the masses protecting national security. For 3 consecutive years (2012, 2013, 2014), the Ministry of Public Security awarded the emulation flag for the ministry's leading movement. The work of Party building and political system building was focused, during the term, 47 new party members were admitted, exceeding the plan by 13%. The inspection and supervision work of the Inspection Committee and the Party Committee achieved excellent results, truly helping the leaders and all levels and sectors in organizing and implementing tasks. After 4 years of implementing Directive 03 of the Politburo on continuing to promote "Studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh", the Party Committee of Son Thanh commune has institutionalized it with specialized resolutions to build ethical standards linking study and practice, giving specific topics for each year...

Looking back at the overall picture of the 2010 - 2015 term, it can be seen that this was a term that left important marks and milestones, demonstrated through 5 achievements and 10 outstanding events, which are:

Firstly: The Party Committee has been exemplary in its clean and strong form for many consecutive years. Within 5 years, the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee awarded it 2 Certificates of Merit for building an exemplary clean and strong Party Committee.

Second: Through the 3-year review of the implementation of Directive 03 of the Politburo on studying and following Ho Chi Minh's moral example, Son Thanh commune is 1/134 typical units nationwide to be awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Central Propaganda Department.

Third: Continuing to promote "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's moral example", Son Thanh commune received a statue of President Ho Chi Minh donated by the children of his hometown.

Fourth: The Commune Fatherland Front Committee was honored as a delegate to attend the 8th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee.

Fifth: In 2010, the President awarded the Third Class Labor Medal to the people and cadres of Son Thanh commune. Up to now, the commune has proposed to award the Second Class Labor Medal.

Friday: Le Doan Nha Secondary School has Tran Thi Thuy winning first prize in the province in Biology for grade 9.

Saturday: The Commune Health Station meets National Health Standards Level 2, building new facilities with an area of ​​8,000 m2, worth 5.9 billion VND.

Eighth: The land consolidation and plot exchange is truly a revolution for Son Thanh; the commune has renovated and built infrastructure worth over 10.4 billion VND.

Ninth: Traffic system with 80 km of asphalt and concrete roads; Yen Due bridge has invested and attracted over 100 billion VND in investment.

Tenth: Son Thanh is the first unit of Nghe An province to rank 13th out of 27 excellent communes nationwide meeting the new rural criteria; was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Prime Minister and awarded a project worth 1 billion VND.

Promoting the achievements in the 2010-2015 term, in the next term, Son Thanh advocates continuing to accelerate the improvement of comprehensive quality, making the commune Party Committee a leading Party Committee in all aspects of Yen Thanh district, striving to achieve the noble title: Heroic Unit in the renovation period by 2020.

To do that, the commune has set out specific targets: Maintain an economic growth rate of 15 to 17%/year to have a social value of 600 - 620 billion VND at the end of the term; per capita income reaches 75 - 80 million VND/year. 100% of hamlets achieve the title of Cultural Village; the poverty rate remains at 1 - 1.5%... Maintain national defense and security; focus on Party building and building a clean and strong government.

To achieve these goals, Son Thanh has determined to focus on a number of key solutions such as: Innovation, breakthrough in strategic thinking; economic restructuring, continuing to focus on and mobilize resources to build infrastructure to serve economic development and improve people's lives. Focus on quickly applying scientific and technological advances to production, inviting scientists and investors to "return" to Son Thanh to create a breakthrough in productivity, quality and value of products and goods. At the same time, taking care of education and training; re-planning residential areas associated with environmental protection; ensuring political security, social order and safety, creating a stable environment for socio-economic development in the area.
