Strive to reduce the poverty rate to below 15% by 2015

(Baonghean) -On April 23, Nghe An Provincial People's Committee held a conference to evaluate the poverty reduction program in 2011 and the first quarter of 2012. Attending the meeting was comrade Le Xuan Dai, member of the Provincial Party Committee - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

The report of the Steering Committee of the Poverty Reduction Program shows that in 2011, the province's poverty reduction programs and targets achieved many positive results: Credit capital for poor households for production reached 641 billion VND, support for students in difficult circumstances reached 887 billion VND, loans for poor households for housing reached 61 billion VND. Last year, the Steering Committee trained 69 classes for officials on hunger eradication and poverty reduction, short-term vocational training for 4,876 workers. The whole province supported the issuance of more than 800,000 health insurance cards, with a budget of more than 340 billion VND, the provincial budget provided support for building houses for poor households reached 208 billion VND, and eliminated 21,361 dilapidated and makeshift houses. In addition, Program 30a, policies to support ethnic minorities... also achieved many results.

After discussion, comrade Le Xuan Dai concluded and proposed solutions for the whole province to strive to reduce the poverty rate of Nghe An to below 15%.
