Striving to eliminate school violence.
This is one of the tasks that the Ministry of Education and Training requires schools to carry out in the new school year.
The Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) has recently sent a document to local Departments of Education and Training providing guidance on student affairs, extracurricular activities, and school health services for the 2013-2014 school year. This school year, the Departments of Education and Training in provinces and cities will continue to promote the study and emulation of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, moral example, and style. They will effectively implement initiatives to build friendly schools and encourage active student participation; strengthen legal education and the application of regulations and rules on education and training, contributing to the formation of a generation of citizens who understand, grasp, and voluntarily abide by the law.
Units will continue to research and review the content and methods of implementing moral and lifestyle education for students, striving to curb and eliminate school violence and uncivilized behavior among students; strengthen comprehensive education and student management; focus on and enhance political ideology education, traditional culture, patriotism, morality, lifestyle, life skills, practical skills, and social responsibility; organize cultural, artistic, physical education, and sports activities, and provide healthcare; prioritize school security and order; and educate students on traffic safety, violence prevention, social evils, accidents, injuries, drowning, and diseases.
Local authorities need to continue investing in infrastructure and improving the capacity and professional qualifications of staff and teachers working with students in areas such as ideology, culture, physical education, sports, and school health. They should also accelerate the establishment of specialized departments to carry out student affairs at educational and training institutions.
