Protest against inhumane actions against Vietnamese fishermen
At the regular press conference of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the afternoon of October 15, responding to information about a Chinese ship robbing and sinking a fishing boat from Quang Ngai on September 29, Foreign Ministry spokesman Le Hai Binh said that the authorities are verifying and emphasized: "Once again, we strongly oppose any act of inhumane treatment, use or threat of use of force against Vietnamese fishermen in any case."
According to Mr. Binh, Vietnam has repeatedly affirmed its indisputable sovereignty over the Hoang Sa archipelago.
This is a traditional fishing ground for Vietnamese fishermen for generations. If foreign vessels prevent the normal and legal activities of Vietnamese fishermen in this area, the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs will have an official and appropriate response.
