Le Figaro readers' unexpected reactions to the conversation between the Russian Defense Minister and his French counterpart
Readers of the French newspaper Le Figaro reacted to the conversation between Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and his French counterpart Sebastien Lecornu, in which the two sides raised the topic of the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall.
The French minister expressed condolences over the tragedy in a phone call on Wednesday, but persisted in convincing his Russian colleague that Kiev and Western countries had nothing to do with the attack, shifting all responsibility to IS.
Mr. Shoigu stressed that Kiev does nothing without the approval of Western regulators. He noted that Moscow hopes that “in this case, the French intelligence services are not behind the incident.”

The sides also touched on the subject of possibly sending French troops to Ukraine; Mr Shoigu warned his colleague about the problems Paris would face if such plans were implemented.
The above conversation received attention and comments from French readers:
“The French also hope for this (that their intelligence agencies are not involved)” - wrote a user with the nickname SIG.
"This (such statements) is inevitable. This is what happens if you keep poking the Russian bear. Emmanuel, you need to think before you say anything," Lahaie advised.
"We hope so too! But with Macron, you can expect everything - especially the worst," said Claudejacquem.
“When Macron almost declared war on Russia, Russia started asking questions”- RHESUS emphasized
“Macron has fanned the flames of war,” Jonas75010 added.

Earlier, FSB Director Alexander Bortnikov pointed out that the terrorist attack in Crocus could not have been prepared by an Islamist organization alone; they had help. He stressed that data from the detainees themselves confirms the Ukrainian trace in this case; in Russian security agencies it is believed that the United States, Great Britain and Ukraine were behind the terrorist attack in Crocus.
