(Baonghean.vn) - Midfielder Phan Van Duc of Song Lam Nghe An is currently being treated and recovering from an injury at the PVF Center, but his chances of participating in the King's Cup are slim.

National team player Phan Van Duc suffered a knee injury after the match against Quang Nam in round 1 of V.League 2019 (March). He was diagnosed with a 2-month treatment and rehabilitation period before he could return to the field. However, Van Duc is currently unable to join Song Lam Nghe An.

Coach Nguyen Duc Thang said: "Currently, we have not yet determined exactly how much time Phan Van Duc needs, it may be 2-3 weeks before he is ready to return to the field. The club will let Phan Van Duc fully recover and will not rush to bring him back."

According to Phan Van Duc, his injury has now healed well and he can run at high intensity. However, the specialists treating him have informed him that he needs to stay and practice until the end of May before returning to the club.

Thus, it is expected that with about 2 weeks of training with SLNA, Phan Van Duc will definitely miss 4 more matches against Hai Phong, Khanh Hoa, Ho Chi Minh City and Saigon in May.

This means that coach Park Hang-seo will find it difficult to focus Phan Van Duc on the Vietnam national team when he has not yet regained his ball feeling and form.

The King's Cup will take place from June 5 to June 8, and Vietnam will face Thailand on June 5.
