Disc brakes shattered when rubbed repeatedly

After more than a minute of braking and stepping on the gas in 4th gear, the brake disc burned red and broke into many pieces.

Youtube/Beyond the press tested an old manual transmission car, pedaling hard in 4th gear. After a minute or so, the brake disc was red hot and shattered. With the camera set at 1,800 frames per second, readers could clearly see the disc shatter into pieces.
