Vietnam's rocket artillery will have a range of 250km.

Israeli defense industry group IMI has introduced the latest generation of guided rockets called Predator HAWK with outstanding range EXTRA.

Vietnam has modernly equipped coastal defense missile brigades in service, creating a steel shield along the East Sea coast with a variety of firing ranges from near to far.

In addition to units using Russian-made coastal missile complexes such as Rubezh (Brigade 680), Redut (Brigade 679) or Bastion-P (Brigade 681), there is another unit with more special weapons, which is the 685th Coastal Artillery - Missile Brigade.

The 685th Brigade is operating Israeli-made guided rocket systems including the EXTRA with a range of 150 km carrying a 125 kg warhead, and the AccuLAR with a range of 45 km and a 35 kg warhead.

Based on their long range, accuracy and superior power, the two types of guided rockets proved extremely effective in destroying landing ports or assembly areas that had been scouted and prepared for firing elements.

However, there is one issue to keep in mind: although the accuracy is not debatable, the range of the two types of bullets above does not really create a superior advantage.

Therefore, the IMI defense industry group has introduced its latest version of guided rocket artillery called Predator HAWK.

Basically, the Predator HAWK bullet is an enlarged version of the EXTRA, it still achieves accuracy within a 10m error circle, but the warhead weight is increased to 200 kg, creating very strong damage and especially the firing range is extended to 250 km.

With the above size, range and accuracy, Predator HAWK is essentially a short-range tactical ballistic missile, it proves to be much more effective when placed next to Scud-B.

IMI said they will soon provide this new generation of ammunition to armies that are already using EXTRA or AccuLAR, and integrating larger launchers into older chassis platforms is not complicated.
