According to RT, citing French media, the 19-year-old man scanned Macron's "vaccine passport" QR code at the hospital gate in Marseille last week, but failed to fool security personnel.

They let the young man in, then called the police to arrest him. Eventually, this audacious fellow was released and fined for using someone else's medical records.

He admitted that he didn't have a "green card" and therefore decided to steal the French President's data. He explained that his motive was simply "for fun."

President Macron's medical data was leaked online last month, allegedly by a healthcare worker with access to the government's vaccination database. The incident also affected information on Prime Minister Jean Castex.

Authorities are investigating the leak. The QR codes for Macron and Castex have been deactivated.

Launched this summer, France's "green card" system requires citizens to present proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative SARS-CoV-2 test result to enter pubs, restaurants, shopping malls, or use public transport.

This system was met with widespread opposition from the French people, evidenced by prolonged street protests in Paris and other major cities.
