France: Far-right FN party fails to win in any region
According to preliminary vote counting results, in the second round of regional elections in France held on December 13, the far-right National Front (FN) party did not win in any region after temporarily leading in the first round of elections on December 6 with more than 27% of the vote and coming first in 6/13 regions across France.

The reason for this result is that the Republican (LR) and Socialist (PS) parties actively campaigned for people to vote to prevent the FN party from coming to power.
In the second round of elections, the LR and PS parties allied with right-wing and left-wing parties by merging their candidate lists.
This allowed the LR party and the right-wing alliance to win in 7 regions, and the PS party and the left-wing alliance parties to win in 5 regions.
In the second round, the voting rate across France reached approximately 60%, 9% higher than the first round./.
