France-US-UK propose joint resolution on Syria
(Baonghean.vn) - Russian news agency TASS quoted AFP on the night of April 14 as saying that France, the US and the UK have submitted a joint draft resolution on the Syria issue to the United Nations Security Council. Accordingly, the three allies condemn the use of chemical weapons in Syria and request the establishment of an independent mechanism to investigate such incidents.

The draft resolution strongly condemns all cases of chemical weapons use in Syria, especially the attack in Douma on April 7, AFP news agency quoted the content of the document as saying.
The draft also calls for the establishment of an independent mechanism to investigate such cases based on objective and professional principles.
The draft resolution, prepared by the French delegation, calls on Syrian authorities to cooperate with the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW). In addition, the authors of the document also call for the establishment of a stable peace and free access to humanitarian assistance, as well as medical evacuation of civilians if necessary.
The draft resolution also calls for the constructive participation of the Syrian government in intra-Syrian negotiations without any preconditions, AFP reported.
The document will be discussed on April 16, the news agency quoted a diplomatic source as saying.
