The Thoi Dai Publishing House was fined 30 million VND.

The Department of Publishing, Printing and Distribution has issued a decision to fine Thoi Dai Publishing House 30 million VND for violations in the book publishing process.

The Thoi Dai Publishing House was fined for failing to submit two publications for copyright registration and for releasing books without signing the necessary permits.

Specifically, Thoi Dai Publishing House published and distributed two books, "Vietnamese Ethnic Culture" and "Vietnamese Culture," a collaboration between Thoi Dai Publishing House, the Culture and Arts Magazine, and Thang Long Bookstore. These two books were published carelessly, including: arbitrarily changing the book titles without the copyright owner's consent; arbitrarily removing many articles; and containing numerous absurd spelling errors. More seriously, even after discovering the issue, the publishing house failed to provide a copyright certificate.

Following media reports about the aforementioned violations by Thoi Dai Publishing House, the Department of Publishing, Printing and Distribution conducted a comprehensive inspection of Thoi Dai Publishing House and decided to impose administrative penalties on the unit.

Publications from Thoi Dai Publishing House have been reported by the press for violations.

According to the Department of Publishing, Printing and Distribution, the repeated and systematic violations demonstrate a lax management by Thoi Dai Publishing House. Not only the two books mentioned above, but since 2012, Thoi Dai Publishing House has had 25 books that violated the regulations of the Publishing Law.

Earlier, in an interview with Infonet, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Bao, Deputy Director of the Department of Publishing, Printing and Distribution, stated: "The Department of Publishing, Printing and Distribution is also reviewing signs of violations by Thoi Dai Publishing House when publishing the book 'Dai Viet Su Ky Toan Thu' (Complete History of Dai Viet)."
