Launching the Photo Contest "National Tourism Year 2015 - Thanh Hoa"

(Baonghean.vn)On the morning of March 18th, in Thanh Hoa City, Thanh Hoa Newspaper launched the Photo Contest "National Tourism Year 2015 - Thanh Hoa".

The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the Thanh Hoa provincial leadership, leaders of newspapers from Nghe An and Ninh Binh provinces, journalists, members of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Association of Literature and Arts' photography association, and reporters from central newspapers and television stations based in Thanh Hoa.

Overview of the launching ceremony

The photo contest is part of the series of events for the 2015 National Tourism Year with the theme "Connecting World Heritage Sites"This is an opportunity to introduce and promote tangible and intangible cultural values, unique scenic spots and landmarks; to expand friendly cooperation, integration and development, and enhance the image and reputation of Vietnam in general, and Thanh Hoa in particular, to international tourists. At the same time, it promotes tourism development linkages between Thanh Hoa and other localities domestically and internationally, contributing to expanding opportunities to attract investment and develop socio-economic development in the area."

Twenty events will be organized during the 2015 National Tourism Year, with supporting events in 15 provinces and cities with World Heritage sites, including Phu Tho, Hanoi, Quang Ninh, Ninh Binh, Nghe An, Quang Binh, Thua Thien Hue, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, and Lam Dong… Among them, Nghe An will host the Nghe An Folk Song Festival and the Lang Sen Festival.

Comrade Do Trong Hung, Standing Committee Member, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, and Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee for the 2015 National Tourism Year in Thanh Hoa, delivered a speech at the launching ceremony.

Comrade Pham Minh Thieu, Provincial Party Committee member, Editor-in-Chief of Thanh Hoa Newspaper, and Head of the Organizing Committee of the competition, delivered a speech launching the contest.

A representative of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Association of Literature and Arts gave a speech in support of the competition.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, Comrade Pham Minh Thieu - Editor-in-Chief of Thanh Hoa Newspaper and Head of the Organizing Committee of the competition - expressed his hope that this competition would enhance the image of Vietnamese tourism in general and Thanh Hoa in particular, promote the linkage and development of tourism between provinces and cities with World Heritage sites and other localities nationwide; and encourage more beautiful photos of Thanh Hoa's scenic spots, heritage sites, and the land and people of Thanh Hoa.
