Launching a campaign to learn the brave spirit of Captain Nguyen Dinh Tai
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of July 6, the Party Committee - Command of Nghe An Border Guard organized a campaign to learn the bravery in the fight of Captain Nguyen Dinh Tai, a scout of the special task force for drug and crime prevention (PCMT&TP) of the provincial Border Guard.
Attending the launching ceremony were Colonel Tran Hai Binh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Commander; Colonel Le Nhu Cuong - Party Committee Secretary, Political Commissar of the Provincial Border Guard and comrades in the Standing Committee, Party Committee - Command, leaders, officers and soldiers of departments, agencies, heads and political commissars of border units, and border guards strengthening border communes.

Implementing the coordination plan between the Provincial Border Guard Command and the Northern Special Task Force, the Department of Drug Crime Prevention and Control, the Border Guard Command organized forces to combat the illegal drug trafficking line from Laos to Nghe An (code 092Av) at the Nam Can International Border Gate Border Post.
In the early morning of June 28, the Border Guard Command of Nghe An province and Group 1, Department of Criminal Investigation and Prevention deployed a crime-solving force of 25 comrades divided into 5 groups (including Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Dinh Tai, Detective, Special Task Force of Criminal Investigation and Prevention, Nghe An Border Guard and Major Nguyen Manh Hung, Detective, Team 3, Group 1, Department of Criminal Investigation and Prevention, were arranged in the main fishing team) to ambush at the identified location.
At around 6:15 a.m. on June 28, the undercover force discovered two subjects coming from the Vietnam-Laos border carrying two backpacks and entering the ambush position of the crime-fighting force. When the opportunity came, the undercover force quickly approached the subjects and used martial arts to capture the leader. The second person immediately ran into the forest and continuously fired at the force controlling the subject carrying two backpacks, causing comrade Tai to be shot once in the stomach and comrade Hung to be shot once in the shoulder.
Despite being injured, the two comrades still resolutely held the subject down so that their teammates could control and arrest him. The detectives arrested Vu Ba Xenh, born in 1979, from Huoi Giang 2 village, Tay Son commune, Ky Son district, Nghe An province. The seized evidence included 20 heroin cakes, 7 kg of crystal meth, 12,000 MTTH pills, 1 gun, 15 bullets and 1 cell phone.
The anti-crime force continued to organize forces to hunt down the fleeing subjects and quickly bandaged the two comrades and took them to the Ky Son District Hospital for emergency treatment, then to Military Hospital 4. Comrade Tai, because of a serious wound caused by a bullet to the abdomen that broke a lumbar vertebra, causing spinal cord damage, was transferred to the 108 Central Military Hospital for further treatment that same day.
During his treatment at the hospital, Comrade Tai received visits, encouragement, sharing, and material and spiritual support from the Head of the Ministry of National Defense, the Border Guard Command, leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, the People's Committee of Nghe An province, and a number of provincial departments and branches; localities, units, individuals, comrades, and teammates.

In recognition of the bravery and determination in the fight against drug crimes of comrade Nguyen Dinh Tai, the Border Guard Command has decided to promote him from Lieutenant to Captain ahead of schedule and is currently working on a proposal by the professional agency to award him the First Class Military Exploit Medal and to propose the Central Youth Union to award him the "Brave Youth" Badge.
Comrade Nguyen Dinh Tai was born in 1983, enlisted in February 2002, belonging to the 12th Reconnaissance Battalion, General Staff, Military Region 4. In March 2015, Comrade Nguyen Dinh Tai was transferred to work at the Special Task Force of the PCMT&TP Department, Nghe An Border Guard Command. Since then, he has always been active and tried his best in performing his professional duties, successfully participating in the fight against many special projects and cases, contributing to firmly protecting the sovereignty and security of the national border, and social order and safety in the border area.
Comrade Tai is the third child in a family with a revolutionary tradition, his father is a war invalid, his two paternal uncles are martyrs, and his grandmother, over 90 years old, is a Heroic Vietnamese Mother. He has a wife and two sons (the eldest is 10 years old, the second is 8 years old). Currently, his family is living with his parents in a level 4 house. Comrade Tai's family is still facing many difficulties and hardships.
After two surgeries, Comrade Tai's health is basically stable, but according to the hospital's announcement, Comrade Tai's wound will leave long-term sequelae.
Speaking at the ceremony, Colonel Le Nhu Cuong - Party Secretary, Political Commissar of the Provincial Border Guard, requested: Party committees, commanders of departments, offices, and units: organize propaganda and study about the bravery in the fight against crime of the PCMT&TP force in general, and comrade Nguyen Dinh Tai in particular.
Propaganda and education to help officers and soldiers deeply understand the role and responsibility of soldiers, dare to face challenges and dangers, not afraid of difficulties and hardships, and determined to excellently complete assigned tasks.
At the same time, the entire unit mobilized officers and soldiers to donate material support, encourage spirit, and help comrade Tai overcome the difficult period, quickly recover to continue working. Accordingly, each officer and employee received at least 1 day's salary; each non-commissioned officer and soldier received 50,000 VND.
It is known that in recent days, organizations and individuals have donated and supported comrade Nguyen Dinh Tai nearly 100 million VND.
