(Baonghean.vn) - In order to improve the quality and effectiveness of traffic safety education for students, on the morning of September 12th, at Vinh University, the Ministry of Education and Training, the National Traffic Safety Committee, the Ministry of Public Security, the Asia Pacific Foundation for Injury Prevention, and Honda Vietnam Company organized the launching ceremony to respond to the "Traffic Safety Action Month" in 2015.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Nghia - Deputy Minister of Education and Training, Mr. Khuat Viet Hung - Vice Chairman of the National Traffic Safety Committee, representatives from the Traffic Police Department - Ministry of Public Security, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, leaders of the Departments of Education and Training in the North Central region, leaders of relevant departments and agencies of Nghe An province, along with nearly 2,000 students from schools in Vinh city, attended the ceremony.

2014 was the first year that the number of deaths from traffic accidents fell below 9,000. With the goal of further reducing traffic accident casualties in the future, at the launching ceremony, representatives of the National Traffic Safety Committee called on organizations, departments, and social groups to join hands; especially to take concrete actions to build a traffic culture among the younger generation.

In response to the 2015 "Traffic Safety Action Month," the Ministry of Education and Training launched a movement encouraging students to participate in safe traffic. During this "Traffic Safety Action Month," the Ministry of Education and Training will issue guidelines to primary schools nationwide on implementing the "Guidelines for Organizing Activities to Encourage Helmet Use When Riding Motorcycles and Electric Bicycles for Primary School Students"; aiming to raise awareness of traffic laws among students and parents.

Within the framework of the program, the Departments of Education and Training in the North Central region (Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, and Quang Binh) signed commitments with the Ministry of Education and Training to implement measures to ensure traffic safety for students; students were instructed on safe motorcycle driving skills; and participated in a parade in response to the 2015 Traffic Safety Action Month on several streets of Vinh City… This is an annual activity aimed at disseminating information about traffic laws and traffic safety regulations among students, thereby building a culture of safe traffic participation among young people.
