(Baonghean) - To commemorate the 55th anniversary of the Spring Tree Planting Festival, on the morning of February 26th, the People's Committee of Nghe An province, in coordination with the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, organized the launching ceremony of the "Forever Grateful to Uncle Ho - Spring of the Year of the Goat" Tree Planting Festival at the Truong Bon National Historical Relic Site, Do Luong district.
Attending the launching ceremony were: Nguyen Phi Long – Secretary of the Central Committee of the Youth Union; Ho Duc Phoc – Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Tran Hong Chau – Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Xuan Duong – Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Le Quang Huy – Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Dinh Hung – Provincial Party Committee member, Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union; and more than 1000 Youth Union members from Do Luong and Nam Dan districts, armed forces of Military Region 4, teachers and students of My Son commune – Do Luong district.

Prior to the launching ceremony, the delegation from the Central and Provincial authorities offered incense and flowers at the graves of 13 soldiers and Youth Volunteers, and at the shrine within the Truông Bồn Historical Site.
The tree-planting ceremony aims to expand the movement for forest protection and development throughout the province, marking the beginning of the successful implementation of the 2015 forest protection and development plan and the successful completion of the Resolution of the 17th Congress of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee. This activity also aims to express gratitude and appreciation to the heroic young volunteers who selflessly sacrificed their blood and lives for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, creating the legendary Truong Bon of today. It is also an opportunity to educate and raise awareness among the youth and people of Nghe An in particular, and the youth of the whole country in general, about the tradition of "drinking water, remembering the source" of our people.

Following the launching ceremony, provincial leaders, the Central Youth Union, and youth union members proceeded to plant more than 30 black star trees and 70 other types of trees at planned locations within the historical site's grounds.
