(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of February 6th (the 7th day of the first lunar month), in Vinh City, the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee, and the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee organized the "Tree Planting Festival to Forever Remember Uncle Ho" for the Spring of the Year of the Horse - 2014.
Attending the ceremony were: Comrade Ho Duc Phoc - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Tran Hong Chau - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of provincial departments and agencies; leaders of various departments and agencies, along with a large number of students and people of Vinh City.

The launching ceremony was held on the grounds of the 700-bed General Hospital in Nghi Phu commune, Vinh City. This project is being urgently constructed, with the completion of various components to be put into operation on President Ho Chi Minh's birthday, May 19, 2014. The landscaping within the hospital grounds is a particular focus, aiming to create a green, clean, and beautiful environment.

This year's Tree Planting Festival was decentralized by the province to districts, cities, and towns for implementation. In the early days of spring, all levels of government and the people throughout the province planted over 300 hectares of various types of forest. This spring, the province aims to plant 7,000 to 8,000 hectares. In recent years, the entire province has successfully implemented the Tree Planting Festival and the reforestation movement. As a result, the forest cover rate of the province reached 54.3% by the end of 2013. In 2014, the province aims to plant 15,000 hectares of forest, contributing to raising the forest cover rate to 54.6% by the end of the year.

Launching the "Tree Planting Festival in Eternal Gratitude to Uncle Ho" in the Spring of the Year of the Horse 2014, on behalf of the provincial leadership, Comrade Dinh Viet Hong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - requested that all levels, sectors, mass organizations, and people's armed forces continue to participate in the Tree Planting Festival in a practical and effective manner.
