Launching the Peak Month of Propaganda on Social Insurance and Health Insurance Policies

Speaking at the Launching Ceremony, Mr. Le Truong Giang - Director of the Provincial Social Insurance affirmed: Social Insurance (SI) and Health Insurance (HI) policies are one of the measures to assess the sustainable development of each country. In Vietnam, the SI and HI policies are increasingly affirming their role as the main pillars in the social security system, receiving attention from the Party and the State and are constantly being improved and innovated, in line with the development in each period.

In Nghe An, implementing Directive No. 19-CT/TU of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee on strengthening the Party's leadership over social insurance and health insurance work in the new situation in the province, implementing the Plan of the Provincial People's Committee, since 2018, the Provincial Social Insurance has coordinated with all levels and sectors, especially the Postal sector, to develop and organize the implementation of the Plan for the peak month of social insurance and health insurance propaganda.

After 2 years of implementation, the activities during the Peak Month (July every year) to propagate social insurance and health insurance policies have brought about positive results; contributing to raising awareness among people of all walks of life, mobilizing resources in implementing policies, and increasing the coverage rate of social insurance and health insurance in the area.

Up to now, the whole province has 2,828,874 people participating in health insurance, an increase of 41,766 people compared to 2019, reaching a coverage rate of 90.15%; there are 54,166 people participating in voluntary social insurance, an increase of 4,163 people compared to 2019. Nghe An is one of the localities with the highest rate of people participating in health insurance and voluntary social insurance nationwide.

With the aim of continuing to improve the effectiveness of propaganda work on social insurance and health insurance policies in the province, Nghe An Provincial Social Insurance continues to simultaneously organize the launching ceremony of the peak month of propaganda on social insurance and health insurance policies in 2020 in the social insurance system from the province to the district with the theme "All people participate in social insurance and health insurance - For personal benefit, for the goal of social security".

In order for the 2020 Social Insurance and Health Insurance Policy Propaganda Peak Month to create an important mark, the Social Insurance sector hopes to continue to receive the attention, leadership and direction of the Provincial People's Committee, and the enthusiastic coordination of all levels and sectors in the work of information and communication of Social Insurance and Health Insurance policies.

At the same time, it is recommended that commercial banks in the area continue to accompany the Social Insurance sector in the movement of donating voluntary social insurance books to the poor, giving health insurance cards to people in difficult circumstances in the province, helping people in difficult circumstances to access medical services for better health care, contributing to ensuring social security in the area...

At the ceremony, the provincial Social Insurance received 200 social insurance books and 1,000 health insurance cards from agencies, units and enterprises in the province to give to poor households and people in difficult circumstances.
