Launching the 2013 Month of Action for Children

(Baonghean.vn) -On the morning of May 28th, in Quy Chau district, the People's Committee of Quy Chau district, in coordination with the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, organized the launching ceremony of the 2013 Action Month for Children with the theme "Creating equal development opportunities for poor children and children from ethnic minorities".

The launching ceremony aims to raise awareness among Party committees, government agencies, sectors, families, and society regarding the care, education, and protection of children, as well as the prevention and mitigation of negative impacts on children. Through this, it calls on the entire society to join hands in activities for children, mobilizing organizations and individuals to support resources for child protection funds at all levels to care for children in difficult circumstances, build welfare facilities, infrastructure, recreational equipment, and playgrounds for children in the community.



The Organizing Committee presented flowers to organizations and individuals who supported the District Children's Protection Fund.



Donating 20 bicycles to underprivileged children.



30 scholarships were awarded to underprivileged students.

At the launching ceremony, the organizing committee presented 30 gifts (including 20 bicycles) and awarded 30 scholarships to poor children, ethnic minority children, and children with particularly difficult circumstances; representatives from 12 communes and towns in the district signed a commitment to protect and care for children. 75 organizations, businesses, and individuals participated in supporting the Quy Chau District Children's Protection Fund with a total amount of nearly 582 million VND.

On the occasion of the launch of the 2013 Action Month for Children, Nghe An province calls on all levels of government, organizations, economic and socio-political organizations, communities, and families to take practical actions to care for and support disadvantaged children and children in difficult circumstances, so that all children in the province have the opportunity to develop equally, live in a safe, friendly, and increasingly better environment.
